The etymology, Himalaya means "place of residence of snow" in Sanskrit (from HIMA "snow", and aalaya "dwelling").&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Himalaya lengthwise along the five countries - Pakistan, India, China, Bhutan and Nepal. He is the source of two major river systems of the world - River Indus and Ganga-Brahmaputra River.
